Born at Rhuddlan, son of Robert Davies, at that time curate of Rhuddlan and afterwards (1823-8) of Newmarket, Flintshire, finally perpetual curate of the Welsh Anglican church in Liverpool. In 1841, the son was appointed secretary of the Church Missionary Society and editor of its periodicals. In 1848 he became vicar of Brenchley, Kent, where he died, 6 February 1858.
