Born 1763 at Wrexham, the son of Edward Randles, butcher. He was taught the harp by John Parry, Ruabon. In 1788 he was appointed organist of Wrexham parish church. George Thomson, Edinburgh, in the introduction to his Alawon Cymreig, refers to him as a very proficient harpist. He and his daughter, Elizabeth Randles, played before George III and queen Charlotte. He died 23 August 1820 at Wrexham.
