Born at Leicester in 1871, son of Thomas and Fanny North. He was educated at Uppingham school and Jesus College, Cambridge, where he took his B.A. In 1897 he married Ida Maude Davies, and they had one daughter. Settling at Llanfairfechan he became interested in the old buildings of Snowdonia. He published The old churches of Arllechwedd, Bangor, 1906, The old cottages of Snowdonia (1908, jointly with Henry Harold Hughes, and The Old Churches of Snowdonia (1924, with H.H. Hughes). He died 9 February 1941.
